LUFTKREIS/ATMOSPHERE

In Goethepark, behind the Künstlerhaus in Klagenfurt/Celovec, the sound of two children’s voices are heard. They call each other by name: Kekec! Mojca!

The two voices belong to famous Slovenian film characters and were sampled from two Slovenian films: Kekec (1951) and Srečno Kekec (1963), both of which were directed by Jože Gale. The sound samples were acoustically adjusted and put together in the new soundtrack. In Goethepark the voices are reproduced by two loudspeakers.

This work refers to the problems and issues of the Slovenian minority in the Austrian part of Carinthia.

2006
